Victor Blanco works for UF/IFAS Extension in Taylor County, as the Florida Sea Grant Extension Agent. Victor holds a bachelor's degree in marine biology from Universidad de Oriente in Venezuela, and a master's degree on fisheries and aquatic sciences from the University of Florida. Victor's outreach work focuses on teaching the public about marine and coastal issues to increase their literacy, works with local anglers, captains, and marinas on conservation and sustainable use of fishing resources, and works closely with the county and other agencies on local waterway safety. His aim in extension work is to disseminate scientific discoveries in a manner accessible to both school-age children and the wider public.
