As a public relations specialist II, Robin Koestoyo promotes science and the scientists who perform world-class research, Extension and education to serve agriculture and natural resources industries in the legendary Indian River District. The UF/IFAS Indian River Research and Education Center (IRREC) commenced research for tomatoes and citrus in 1947. Today, IRREC researchers, graduate students and visiting scientists are at work to help citrus growers produce fruit--despite the world's most serious citrus disease. Other critical research and Extension areas include postharvest technology, biological control, aquaculture, entomopathogenic fungi, plant root biology, agricultural engineering, soil and water science.
