Emily is a Communications Assistant and K-12 Program Leader based in Cedar Key at the UF/IFAS Nature Coast Biological Station. Her focus combines a mix of graphic design technology and marine science education to enhance extension and outreach at NCBS. Emily’s major program areas include: improving coastal literacy and stewardship, and promoting healthy habitats and ecosystems. As a frequent field mate on a variety of graduate student and faculty research projects, Emily demonstrates hands-on experiential learning when engaging with the public through school trips and open houses. Her responsibilities also include conducting extension program workshops, connecting undergraduate students with state and federal agencies through summer internships, and involvement in community and county-wide events.
