I am a Communications Assistant and K-12 Program Leader based in Cedar Key at the UF/IFAS Nature Coast Biological Station (NCBS). My focus combines a mix of multi-media technology and marine science education to enhance research, extension, and outreach programs. Major areas include: improving youth coastal literacy and environmental stewardship through hands-on field trips, and promoting the research and conservation of healthy habitats and ecosystems across multiple platforms (digital, print, and social media, blogs, web design, virtual and in-person events). My responsibilities also include managing all communication and outreach within NCBS, conducting citizen science volunteer programs and workshops, communicating science to the public by working closely with students, researchers, city officials, and various federal and state agencies, and involvement in community and state-wide events.
