Many of us read the Nutrition Facts label when making selections at the grocery store, an important step on our path to healthy living. But, have you ever thought about the difference between “serving size” and “portion size”?
We won’t throw a “spoiler” here and tell you the difference. Instead, we’ll point you to recent work done by the International Food Information Council (IFIC). That organization has conducted a new survey to gauge how much consumers know — and, importantly, whether we know the difference between a serving and a portion.
Read the Understanding Portion and Serving Sizes survey to see learn the distinctionh. You may surprise yourself. And, you might learn something important.
