What can 30 minutes do for you?
Join the Let’s Walk Florida! virtual education series and find out how just 30 minutes of physical activity a day can make a difference in your life. During this 6-week virtual education program, participants will be provided with healthy lifestyle strategies and exercises for all fitness levels. Let’s Walk Florida! teaches lifestyle change strategies that help support:
- mental and physical wellness
- weight management
- chronic disease prevention and management.
You will also receive weekly Health eGuides delivered by e-mail, attend virtual group check-ins with your local Family and Consumer Sciences Agent, and participate in physical activity challenges. Who can participate? Anyone! We recognize that all ages can benefit from establishing and achieving health and well-being goals. Individuals, families, friends, and teams can walk or exercise at home or any other location that is comfortable.
Why participate? The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that adults need at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity (such as walking) a week. That’s just 30 minutes a day! The Let’s Walk Florida! program is a great way to learn and connect with others through physical fitness and lifestyle change strategies, making it an easy and fun way to achieve those weekly recommended physical activity minutes. And it’s virtual, so you can attend from anywhere!
