Summer Updates

You may notice a few changes on campus. Read on to find out what’s been happening:

  • After 16 years wonderful years with the Food Science and Human Nutrition department (and 35 years with UF), Marianne Mangone has retired as our Program Assistant and graduate student receptionist. We wish her a very happy retirement!
  • Welcome to Rachael Vinyard, who will be taking over Marianne’s role. She joins us after her valuable experiences working with the College of Education and the University’s Registrar’s office. Stop by and say hello!
  • The selective Master of Science-Dietetic Internship (MS-DI) program held a breakfast on August 16th to welcome the incoming class of eight MS-DI students. Dr. Elaine Turner, the dean of the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS), gave an introduction. Dr. Turner is an FSHN faculty member and has been involved in the education of many of our dietetic alumni.
  • On August 19th, we welcomed incoming freshmen who have declared dietetics, nutritional sciences or food science as majors at the CALS Convocation ceremony. Students met Dr. Beth Gankofskie and Laura Acosta, as well as Jenna Grogan, FSHN undergraduate advisor.
