Orange County 4-H Summer Day Camps

With spring break behind us, it won’t be long until school is out, and parents are looking for quality activities for their children. The Orange County 4-H Program is offering several day camp opportunities this summer that can keep kids learning while they are having fun.

4-H Summer Camp Offerings

Our youngest campers (ages 5-7) will have two dates to choose from for a one-day nature-themed camp using the “Growing Up Wild” curriculum from the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies. This ½ day camp will be offered twice in the month of June for a cost of only $15.00.

There are two weeks of camp for kids from 8 to 12 years old. In June, 4-H Healthy Kids Camp returns with fun and engaging activities to teach campers how they can live healthier lives through better eating habits, physical activity, time spent in nature, gardening, smart money habits, mindfulness and more. In July, our popular 4-H STEM Camp will offer hands-on lessons about many varied subjects within the world of science. The cost for each week is $75.00 or get the bundled value of $125.00 for both.

Another new offering for 2022 is the “Aquatic Adventures Camp” for intermediate age campers ages (11-13 as of 9/1/21).  Orange County campers will learn all about the world of water, both through indoor water conservation activities and outdoor adventures alongside St. John’s County campers on field trips to waterways between here and there. The camp takes place June 6-10 and the cost is $200.00. Orange County is limited to ten campers so be sure to register early to save your spot!

For the most adventurous campers who really want to get away from home, the Florida 4-H Program is hosting week-long residential camping opportunities all summer at Camp Cloverleaf and Camp Timpoochee. You can visit Camps – Florida 4-H – University of Florida, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences – UF/IFAS (ufl.edu) for information. Scholarships are available for families that are unable to pay the full cost of camp.

The UF/IFAS Extension Orange County 4-H Program is open to all youth ages 5-18 without regard to race, creed, color, religion, age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, political opinions, or affiliations.
