Beginner Grant Writing: Learning the Basics to Fund Your Mission

2-Part Series, Tuesdays: March 10 and March 24, 2026, from 9:00am – 4:00pm

Whether you’re new to grants or preparing your first application, this beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop walks you through the essential elements of successful grant writing. Participants will learn how to clearly define a community need, develop a strong project plan, identify realistic outcomes, and confidently approach potential funders. This course is ideal for anyone ready to turn an idea into a competitive, fundable proposal.

  • Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (both days)

  • Cost: $249 per person

Learning Experience

  • Approximately 50% hands-on practice

  • Guided exercises using real-world examples

  • Optional review of participant proposals or sample proposals

  • Includes access to:

    • Online learning resources

    • A downloadable workbook

    • Extension faculty expertise through June 2026 for proposal review, feedback, and data sourcing support

Technology Requirements

  • Reliable internet connection

  • Zoom access (camera and microphone recommended)

Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • Classes are subject to cancellation if fewer than 10 participants are registered

  • If the class is cancelled, participants will receive email notification and a full refund

  • Non-refundable registration fee: $249 per person if the participant does not attend
