Lourdes Mederos
Lourdes Mederos is a public relations manager with UF/IFAS Communications. She is blessed to combine her passion for communication with her commitment to advancing the University of Florida's land-grant mission while living in South Florida with her family. Lourdes is dedicated to raising awareness of innovative research, scientific breakthroughs and evidence-based solutions that improve lives across Florida. Through strategic communications and media relations, she connects the work of UF'/IFAS scientists, faculty, students and Extension professionals with residents, stakeholders and visitors throughout the state. Lourdes supports communication efforts for eight (8) research facilities and seven Extension offices spanning Florida's east and west coasts, from Central Florida to the Florida Keys. Additionally, Lourdes leads the Spanish Media Outreach Initiative, expanding the reach and visibility of UF/IFAS research, programs and services within Florida's Spanish-speaking communities and media outlets strengthening engagement with divers audiences across the state.
