There will be a Fall Harvest Lunch and Learn on September 14th from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, to be held at the UF/IFAS North Florida Research and Education Center-Suwannee Valley in Live Oak, Fl. This program is being facilitated by local and regional UF/IFAS Extension, and Florida Farm Bureau’s Young Farmers and Ranchers of the North Florida Region.

In this training, attendees will engage in presentations covering topics related to issues impacting our number one economic driver – the agricultural industry. You will hear remarks pertaining to the upcoming farm bill, and view interactive video created by the Young Farmers and Ranchers of Suwannee and Madison counties. Other topics include; what is extension, local food systems, agricultural diversity, and environmental stewardship. This program is designed to generate agricultural awareness among citizens and leaders who reside and make decisions in our region of the state.

In addition to that, a Trolley Tour of the North Florida Research and Education Center-Suwannee Valley has been planned, along with the opportunity to go into the field for a U-Pick of produce grown at the research center. You will also have the ability to sample various types of local produce that will be made available and prepared for you that day.
