Alumni Survey

During my time as Sarasota’s 4-H intern, I wanted to engage with all levels of 4-H. So, I created a survey to assess the experiences of 4-H alumni. If you click the photo below, you will find a website that goes over their answers. The survey was split into 4 categories. Their different career paths, involvement within 4-H, projects they took on, and life skills they developed. If you are wondering about joining 4-H or just want to learn more about our program, these alumni testimonials will give you a great look into what 4-H is all about.

Overview

A brief overview of the data includes:

• Alumni who participated in 22 different projects.
• 40% of respondents said they developed all 4-H life skills from the life skills wheel.
• All said they still use some, if not all, of these life skills in their lives today.
• All rated 4-H as a great experience.
• 80% recommend that kids should get involved with 4-H.
• Responses from people in all different careers.
• Alumni who, on average, participated in 2.1 clubs.

Here at 4-H Sarasota, we greatly value the experience of our 4-H’ers. They help us volunteer and spread the word about our great program! If you know someone who used to be a part of 4-H, talk to them! It can be daunting to join a program if you have never been a part of it before but talk to others and see what they have to say. The best things could happen outside of your comfort zone. As the largest American youth development organization, 4-H has the resources to support all your child’s interest. Sarasota 4-H is a part of a nearly 6-million-member program. So, if you have no experience with 4-H, I promise you there are people that are!
