DIY Energy and Water Audit Kits

Sarasota County offers Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Energy and Water Audit Kits for checkout through Sarasota County Libraries. The Kits provide Sarasota County residents with a simple and economical way to evaluate their home energy and water use. Users learn ways to save resources and money, while also lessening their impact on the environment.

The DIY Audit Kit is intended to serve those residents that have already taken basic energy and water efficiency measures at home and are interested in taking their resource saving efforts to the next level. The Kit offers the opportunity for residents to perform a detailed analysis of energy and water use and quantify savings. Users learn how various systems in their home operate and which energy and water efficiency upgrades might work best for them.

A step-by-step guide, the Home Energy and Water Evaluation Guide, and necessary technical equipment is included in the DIY Audit Kit to determine specific energy and water use profiles and solutions for the home. The Kit also includes reference materials to read for additional information.
