New faces at Sarasota County Extension

If you’ve come by our office recently or met us in the community, chances are you have seen some new faces. That’s because we’ve added some staff to better serve you, and we thought you might like to know a little more about them.

Sarah Bostick
sarah bostick, sustainable agriculture agent

Sarah Bostick, sustainable agriculture agent, UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County.

Sarah is the sustainable agriculture agent. She already has begun reaching out to local farmers and ranchers to get to know the local food system and how Extension can meet local needs for technical support, education, and connections. Sarah will provide support for large- and small-scale agricultural operations in Sarasota County, as well as education for the public about our local food system. Sarah comes to us with 16 years of farming experience, plus agricultural education experience in a food hub, at a teaching farm, and consulting with farmers across the southeast.

Katie Erenati
katie erenati, operations supervisor

Katie Erenati, operations supervisor, UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County.

Kate joins us as our operations supervisor. She will supervise the administrative team, supporting budgeting and strategic planning for the department, and coordinate efforts to measure success and communicate impact. Originally from outside of Boston, Katie has lived in Florida for 13 years and was most recently the membership manager at Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium. She has a bachelors degree in environmental studies, and significant experience in stakeholder and volunteer engagement, office management, and database management.

We welcome Kellie as a 4-H program assistant. Kellie started the week of the Sarasota County Agricultural Fair, and has dived right in, getting to know the youth, families, and volunteers in our 4-H program. Kellie most recently worked for the Florida Guardian Ad Litem program, and has more than 20 years of administrative experience. She is from Sarasota, a Florida native, her sons grew up with Sarasota 4-H, and her grandson also recently joined the program. Kellie also has event planning experience through her community involvement with the Bee Ridge Women’s Club, Sarasota Sportsmen Club, and the Manasota Operation Troop Support Annual “Take a Veteran Fishing Day.”

If you’d like to “meet” all of the great staff here, check out our online directory (with images). And next time you are in the office or you meet Sarah, Kate, Kellie or any of us out in the community, be sure to say “Hi” and tell us how we can help you.
