Using the model of the Sarasota County Green Business Partnership Program, created in 2006, the course assists businesses with implementing green practices. A Sarasota County business that completes the application process will become a recognized Green Business Partner. To date, more than 250 businesses have earned certification in Sarasota County.

The Green Business Partnership course focuses on four main topics:

  • Business Operations;
  • Waste Reduction & Recycling;
  • Energy Consumption;
  • and Water Conservation.

Course instructor: Randall Penn, waste reduction agent, who is responsible for designing, coordinating, evaluating and reporting on a research-based education program that focuses on solid waste. Visit UF/IFAS Extension Online Learning to enroll in either or both of these self-paced courses.
