Orange County 4-H Summer Camp: Opportunities for Everyone

Orange County 4-H Summer Camp: Opportunities for Everyone

Looking for fun and engaging educational opportunities for your kids this summer? The Orange County 4-H program has a wide variety of themed day camp options for all ages – even teens! All camps are led by UF/IFAS faculty who incorporate research-based content and use positive youth development principles. Programs will take place at the UF/IFAS Extension Orange County Education Center at 6021 Conway Rd. in Orlando.

For our youngest campers ages 5-7, we have our popular “Growing Up Wild” camp on July 9th from 8:00 to 12:00.   We offer different themed activities each year so your child can attend all three years and not repeat a thing! The cost of $25.00 includes take home projects and a healthy snack.

There are six unique themed-day choices for children ages 8-12 during June and July.  Topics include Healthy Living, STEM/Engineering, Fiber Arts, Animal Science, Environmental Science and Horticulture. Kids can choose to attend whichever days spark their interest and fit in your family’s summer schedule. Each day is $25.00 and includes take home materials and a snack.

Finally, we have two afternoon programs that are designed for teens ages 13-18.  Teens in the Kitchen camp (June) includes food safety, preparation, and cooking skills – and the campers get to eat what they prepare! Mastering Money (July) provides engaging activities for teens to gain insight in to personal money habits and teaches them how to use a spending plan to meet the challenges of adulthood responsibilities. Each program is $25.00 and includes all food, supplies and take-home tools.
