Coming Soon: Healthy For Life

We are excited to announce a new partnership and program opportunity coming to UF/IFAS Extension Orange County. Starting on Thursday, August 15, 2024, Family and Consumer Sciences Agents Hillary Ayers and Patrick Zayas, in collaboration with the American Heart Association, would like to invite you to Healthy For Life, a four week, in-person educational program created to help you learn what healthy food can do for you. This engaging series will teach participants how to: be well, eat well, live well, and learn how to use a blood pressure cuff. Each participant will receive a blood pressure cuff to take home for the duration of the program, enabling them to monitor their blood pressure regularly. The program will consist of four sessions across five weeks, August 15, August 22, September 5 and September 12 (no class on August 29).

Session Information:

August 15 – The Role of Food and Your Health: Managing your Blood Pressure

August 22 – World of Spices: Cooking with Herbs to Lower Your Blood Pressure

September 5 – Exercise within Reach: How to be More Active

September 12 – Mindfulness: Boost Your Wellbeing

Cost: $20.00 per-person

All sessions will take place from 2:00pm – 3:00pm at:
