Beginning on Monday, June 1, 2020, the Orange County Extension Education Center, 6021 S. Conway Road will SAFELY resume operations on a limited basis from 8:00am – Noon, Monday – Friday. You must have an appointment. Please call (407) 254-9200. Upon entry, your temperature will be taken and you will complete a COVID-19 questionnaire. No more than 10 people meeting in a group; face coverings/masks are highly encouraged. Social distancing will be observed at all times. If you feel ill, do not visit the facility.
In a previous Blog post, I mentioned that many of our face-to-face classes, workshops and other activities had been cancelled or postponed until May 1st. That has been extended to June 30th.There are many classes now being presented using virtual software suites such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Cisco WebEx. These classes are advertised at EventBrite and social media platforms listed below.

The Plant Clinic at the Orange County Extension Education Center continues to answer homeowner questions on the telephone (407) 254-9200 from 8:00am – Noon. Any requested University of Florida publications will be mailed.
Plant Clinics at Mid-Florida Research and Education Center and Harry P. Leu Gardens are permanently closed.
Soil testing will no longer be conducted at the Orange County Extension Education Center. Homeowners may send soil samples to the University of Florida Soils Laboratory for pH testing and soil nutrient testing. Cost of this test is $10.00 and homeowners will be contacted by e-mail in about two weeks. Get a copy of the form at UF Soils Lab, and follow the instructions on page 2. You may use a ziptop bag or a brown paper bag for your soil sample.
The Exploration Gardens remains open daily from 8:00am to Sunset for self-guided tours. All group tours are cancelled until further notice. While in the Exploration Gardens, please practice social distancing and self-monitor so that no more than ten (10) visitors are in the Exploration Gardens at any one time. The use of face coverings and masks are encouraged.
