About Me

I’m happy to introduce myself as your new UF/IFAS Extension Family & Consumer Sciences (FCS) Agent in Miami-Dade County. If you’re not familiar with FCS, it is a field of study that combines the science and art of living well in our ever-changing world. This field supports the development of essential life skills that enable individuals to lead better lives, be workforce-ready, and build stronger families and communities. I was born and raised in the 305, which gives my work so much purpose because it grants me the opportunity to serve and empower my community, mi gente (my people).
What’s Ahead
As your FCS agent, my goal is to deliver high-quality, practical educational programs that strengthen Miami-Dade County by enhancing its health and economic resilience. Here are the educational opportunities you can look forward to:
Promoting Financial Well-Being
Are you interested in feeling more in control of your finances? Learn practical tips in managing your finances, reducing debt, and improving your credit to support your personal and family financial well-being.
Pathway to Food Entrepreneurship
Have you ever thought of launching your own food business? Join educational sessions on how to launch and grow a food business, navigate regulations, and apply food safety standards.
Practical Health & Wellness Strategies

Do you want to learn easy ways to eat better and incorporate wellness practices? Participate in learning opportunities that explore how to support the prevention and management of chronic diseases, as well as lifestyle habits that enhance our daily lives.
My Approach to FCS
No matter the topic area, my approach centers on providing practical life skills education that meets people where they are. I aim to foster a sense of community in my classes, where people can find support and resources to make informed, sustainable choices for their lives.
Background & Experience
I may be an honorary Gator, but I am a Panther at heart. I hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Dietetics & Nutrition from FIU. I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)… which means I can make science taste good! I have over eight years of experience in community education, with recognition for award-winning community programs. I am a ServSafe Food Protection Manager certified, and I am pursuing my Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) certification.
Fun Facts

In my free time, I enjoy playing American Mahjong. Mahjong is my favorite game to play because it ties in shared learning, community connection, and fun. I also love going to the beach to catch the sunrise or sunset, and connecting with nature; it’s my happy place.
