US Food Shopper Trends in 2018
by Suraj Gurung, Lijun Angelia Chen, Sungeun Yoon, and Lisa House
To gain insights into US consumers’ food-related perspectives, this publication examines their 2018 food and beverage preferences and consumption patterns. Drawing on a nationwide sample of 6,412 primary food shoppers in 2018, the authors assess consumer perspectives regarding food shopping outlets and responses to food price increases. They also examine consumers’ grocery expenditures, food-related attitudes, food and beverage consumption patterns, and nutritional perceptions. The publication compares food consumer trends in 2018 with food consumer trends in 2017 to identify any changes over time.
