From the Ground Up workshop set for January 2022

January is not always the nicest of times to be working in a Florida garden. Why not spend the day with Master Gardener Volunteers learning about Northeast Florida gardening and getting ideas to improve your own landscape at the “From the Ground Up” day of gardening event. Come see a plant or design idea just waiting to be implemented in their own gardens.

UF/IFAS Extension Clay County Master Gardener Volunteers will host a day of education, “From the Ground Up”, a day of education will be held for the public Friday January 28th 2022 from 8:30 am to 3.30 pm at the Extension Office 2463 SR-16 West in Green Cove Springs (next to the Fairgrounds).

The event starts with a Master Gardener-guided tour of the Extension Office grounds, showcasing the specialty gardens: herbs, wildflowers, succulents, edibles, daylily, butterfly, and shade gardens. Following the tour, learn from Master Gardeners and County Extension Agents about Kokedama, Hydroponics, Culinary Herbs, Easy Orchids, Designing for Color, Good and Bad Insects and Winter and Spring Gardening.

Get your questions answered by the Master Gardeners Volunteers during the course of the day. Morning and afternoon refreshments are provided with lunch on your own. Register now and pay a $15.00 fee at Clayextension.Eventbrite.com as capacity is limited.
