Become a Climate Smart Floridian this fall! Join us for a six-week, interactive virtual course to learn how climate change is impacting Florida. You’ll also learn how communities build resiliency into water resources, waste, food, transportation, and more.
Join us starting on Thursday, October 5th at 6:30 PM ET. The course will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM ET starting on October 5th and ending on November 9th.
The cost of this course is $40 and will be offered via Zoom.

The Climate Smart Floridians program was developed by the University of Florida Sea Grant Climate Work Action Team to increase climate literacy and reduce local greenhouse gas emissions at the household level. This is modeled after successful Climate Masters programs in Nebraska and Oregon. Program participants in Oregon reduced personal greenhouse gas emissions by an annual average of two tons per person. In addition, many participants found that the program enhanced their quality of life, built community support, and changed the way they made decisions on the path toward solving the climate crisis. This program uses the 3 pillars of sustainability – economic, social, and environmental. Many people today are seeking ways to reduce their everyday living expenses. The Climate Smart Floridians program presents options from which participants may choose depending on what makes sense for their household and situation.
