Veterinary Entomology Lab
Lab Technician
The Veterinary Entomology Lab at the University of Florida is seeking a lab technician. Duties include but are not limited to:
• Maintaining insect colonies (filth flies, mosquitoes, tenebrionids)
• Cleaning laboratory equipment and basic husbandry
• Data entry
• Working an autoclave
• Some field work
• Driving a state vehicle
The ideal candidate will be available Mon-Fri with some weekend feedings of colonies. Candidates must be able to complete all lab safety training. Must be extremely reliable and able to work alone on tasks. This is a part-time position of 20 hours per week with the potential to increase.
