Emerging Scholars Program
The Center for Undergraduate Research is pleased to announce the 2019 Emerging Scholars Program. In partnership with participating colleges, we will make 30 ESP awards. As described below, the program is designed to be a first time, early research experience. The majority of the first three ESP cohorts have continued their research, many were awarded REU and USP positions, and several became co-authors on peer reviewed journal articles.
Students Commit to:
- 2 semesters of research (Spring 2019 and Summer 2019/Fall 2019)
- Poster Presentation
- Research Paper
- $1000 Stipend
Eligibility:
- Freshman or Sophomore status only
- NO previous research experience
- Find Research Mentor to sponsor you
- Mentor must be in one of the following colleges: Arts, CLAS, CALS, DCP, Education, HHP, The Florida Museum of Natural History, Medicine, PHHP, Pharmacy, Dentistry, VetMed
Application consists of:
- Personal Statement
- Description of Research Project
- Letter of Support from Research Mentor
