Virginia Tech Middleburg Agricultural Research and Extension Center Seeking Interns for Summer Program

Virginia Tech Middleburg Agricultural Research and Extension Center (MARE Center) is seeking interns for their summer program. The MARE Center is a 420-acre equine research and education facility located in the heart of Virginia’s horse country. This is an immersive learning environment for students who are sincere in their desire to secure employment in the equine industry and/or pursue post-baccalaureate education in graduate or veterinary school.

Interns will have the opportunity to be involved with ongoing research and Extension activities at the MARE Center in one of two tracks:

  1. Equine Science Internship – experience research and outreach programs in equine nutrition, health, and reproduction
  2. 4-H Horse Program Youth Development Internship – experience project areas in 4-H programming, outreach, and curriculum development
Current students may receive college credit if desired and will be responsible for tuition and fees. Transfer credits will be the student’s responsibility. 
This is an unpaid internship, but housing and utilities provided. Students responsible for all other expenses. 
Start date May 21st, 2018 and exit date August 10, 2018.
