All sorts of mushrooms are growing during this wet, warm summer. Learn about the varieties growing in local landscapes, and which ones to avoid.

The UF/IFAS Wakulla County Extension Office will be holding a basic mushroom program on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. The Extension Office is located at 84 Cedar Avenue, Crawfordville, Florida.

Bill Petty, Master Gardener graduate and mushroom guru, will be talking about the mushroom part of the Kingdom of Fungi. He will have photos and information on local mushrooms which can be found growing in Wakulla County lawns, landscapes and forest.

Sara Wander, 2014 Master Gardener graduate, will be talking about mushroom cultivation techniques for Wakulla County. Both Bill and Sara will be available for questions after their presentations.

This program is free and open to the public! Master Gardeners and Master Gardener students will receive continuing education credits for attending this program.
