Water touches every aspect of our lives, and is at the heart of many questions we receive at UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County. This “Water Talk” blog series will answer some of the most commonly asked water-related questions.
Our Master Gardener Volunteers (MGVs) serve the community by staffing our Plant Clinic. By providing plant identification, pest diagnostics, and expert advice, our MGVs offer a valuable service to the community. Through our main Plant Clinic at Twin Lakes Park and several satellite locations, our MGVs work closely with the public to answer questions and offer advice. The topics explored in this blog series are inspired by the questions that our Master Gardener Volunteers answer on a frequent basis.
In this series, we’ll dive into an array of topics, including:
- Plant suggestions for in and around your pond
- How to tell if your irrigation is contributing to landscape problems
- Local regulations around pond vegetation
- Improving the water quality in your pond (without the use of heavy chemicals)
- Water testing
