EVENT: 2018 Forage management workshop and tour

Register now to reserve your spot for the 2018 Forage Management Workshop and Tour, set for Aug. 24.

Facilitated by the South Florida Beef-Forage Program of UF/IFAS Extension, the program is set to run 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., starting at the Longino Ranch for a tour highlighting grazing and management methods for:

  • Stargrass,
  • Jiggs Bermudagrass,
  • Bahiagrass,
  • Limpograss,
  • Native Range, and
  • Corn Silage.

Participants then will travel to Jerry Dakin Dairy to learn more about the forages currently utilized there for dairy cattle. The final stop will be at Blackbeard’s Ranch, for lunch followed by the program workshop.

Register by Aug. 10 for the early-bird price of $35 per person; registration after that date increases to $45.

This year, the program also offers CEUs for Core (3), Ornamental & Turf (4.5), Ag Row Crop (4.5), and Private Applicator licenses (4.5).
