Calling all nature explorers!
Join UF/IFAS Extension at our first weeklong summer camp at the Florida Children’s Museum at Bonnet Springs Park in Lakeland! Join us as we explore wildlife, botany, insects, and nature through crafts, activities, and outdoor play. Each day will focus on a different nature concept that campers will explore using Bonnet Springs Park as their lab.
Let’s Explore! Natural Resources and Conservation
Polk County has so many wonderful natural resources and environmental lands to explore! From water to woods, campers will explore ways to protect these precious places by conducting experiments, playing games, and enjoying the outdoor spaces at Bonnet Springs Park.
Let’s Explore! Botany
Step into the wide world of botany by starting with a seed! Campers will learn how to grow plants from seeds and cuttings and create crafts using plants and natural items. All campers will come home with green thumbs!
Let’s Explore! Insect Adventures
Let’s learn about Florida’s insects and pollinators! Campers will create insect crafts, explore the world of pollination and bees, and get up close and personal with insects through exploratory activities.
Let’s Explore! Wildlife in Central Florida
Wildlife encounters are part of life as a Floridian! Campers will learn how to live with, and appreciate, the wildlife found in Central Florida.
