Naturally Florida podcast is in it’s 5th season and is excited to announce a NEW series, all about hurricanes! Naturally Florida is a podcast designed to teach listeners about Florida’s natural areas and the wild things that live here. Both natural areas and the wild things that live here can be significantly impacted by hurricanes and other tropical weather events. With a target audience of new residents to Florida, frequent visitors to Florida and general nature lovers, Naturally Florida co-hosts Lara Milligan and Shannon Carnevale thought a series of podcast episodes about hurricanes was a great fit for this year’s hurricane season.
Hurricane season in Florida runs from June 1st through November 30th with the peak occurring around September 10th. After a very active season in 2024, with many people still recovering from the impacts of different storms, hurricanes are still on top of people’s minds. Tune in to the latest episode to learn the basics about hurricanes from defining hurricanes to terminology used with hurricanes, and from how they form to how to prepare.
