4-H, Pledge Your Hands to Larger Service with the Peanut Butter Challenge!

It’s the Peanut Butter Challenge Time! Peanut Butter Challenge Time! Peanut Butter Challenge Time!

During the month of October, please support people in need in your community and Florida’s peanut producers by generously donating to the Peanut Butter Challenge. 4-H members can dedicate their hands to larger service by collecting jars of unopened peanut butter, which will then go to local food pantries to help feed local families.

Now, where’s it at? Where’s it at? Where’s it at?

Traditionally clubs bring their jars of peanut butter to our Extension Office (6021 S. Conway Rd.), and they still can! But new this year is the list of Parks and Rec locations which are also drop-off locations.

The Orange County Parks and Rec locations accepting peanut butter are: Barnett Park, Bear Creek Recreation Complex, Bithlo Park, Capehart Park, Fort Gatlin Recreation Complex, Goldenrod Recreation Center, Meadow Woods Recreation Center, Silver Star Recreation Center, South Econ Recreation Center, Renaissance Senior Center at South Econ Community Park, Tibet-Butler Preserve, and West Orange Recreation Center.

The Parks and Rec locations will not have a tracking sheet, so make sure your club members keep track of their own donated jars and ounces.

Clubs also have the choice to track and keep their peanut butter at their own location and donate their jars to a local food bank of their choosing after the challenge ends on October 31st. This way we can better spread the peanut butter love all over Orange County.

There we go! There we go! There we go!

There will be a $50 award to Shop 4-H for the club that collects the most ounces of peanut butter. For jars brought into the Extension Office, a paper tracker will be available. For those brought to a Parks and Rec location or a club location, members will need to be sure to track their own ounces and submit them to me (ereichel@ufl.edu) at the end of the challenge on October 31st.

Feel free to use #PBChallenge on social media and tag @oc_4H on Instagram to spread the word!

IT’S THE PEANUT BUTTER CHALLENGE TIME!
