Families are invited to discover the exciting world of local agriculture at the inaugural Indian River County AgVenture Fest, hosted by UF/IFAS Extension Indian River County.

The event will take place on Oct. 25, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Indian River County Fairgrounds Livestock Pavilion at 7955 58th Ave. in Vero Beach. This event is made possible by the Indian River County Farm Bureau and other community sponsors.

Designed especially for youth ages 5 to 12, AgVenture Fest offers a fun, hands-on learning experience, highlighting some of Indian River County’s most important agricultural commodities. Each registered child will rotate through six interactive educational stations, gaining a deeper understanding of local farming and food production.

Registration is $10 per child ages 5 to 12, which includes access to all activity stations and a take-home swag bag. Admission is free for all other ages, making this a fun, family-friendly outing. Space is limited, requiring advanced registration. For more information and to register, please visit the event website.

In addition to the educational stations, families can enjoy activities throughout the day, including a petting zoo, a touch-a-tractor experience, a hands-on roping activity teaching roping techniques usually seen in a rodeo, a photo booth and much more. Food vendors on site will offer a variety of options.

Event Schedule:

  • 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Registration & Check-In.
  • 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Youth will engage at educational stations, rotating every 20 minutes.
  • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Explore, eat and enjoy additional activities.

“We’re excited to host our first AgVenture event here in Indian River County,” said Andrea Lazzari, natural resources Extension agent and director of UF/IFAS Indian River County Extension. “This event will be a wonderful way for families to connect with agriculture, meet local farmers and learn where their food comes from in a fun and engaging environment.”
