On August 12, 2025, the Nassau County 4-H Teen Leadership Club had our first meeting of the 2025–2026 year. We were excited to welcome both new and returning members. We spent time getting to know each other, talking about our goals for the year, and having some fun together.
At our September meeting, we elected our new club officers. The 2025–2026 officers are:
President: Brooklyn B.
Vice President: Hailey H.
Secretary: appointed by meeting
Treasurer: Wolf B.
Reporter: Paisley B.
Sergeant at Arms: Conner P.
Parliamentarian: Cierra H.
After elections were complete, we began planning our annual Community Pride project. Community Pride is a service grant project sponsored by the Florida 4-H Foundation. Clubs apply for funding to complete a project that improves their local community. Everyone shared ideas, and we were asked to research the ideas we were most interested in before the next meeting.
Between the September and October meetings, our Teen Leadership Council attended the Board of County Commissioners meeting, where a proclamation was made for National 4-H Week (October 5–11). It was an exciting experience to represent 4-H in front of our local leaders.
In October, we met online and voted on our Community Pride project. We proposed to build plant native garden boxes. Our goal is to help educate people about Florida’s native plants and restore a section of our community. Each member received specific questions to answer for our Community Pride grant application based on their roles. We will find out if we are awarded the grant in January!
We also started planning our annual 4-H Holiday Celebration. It will be on December 9, 2025, at the Callahan Extension Office. We voted on the theme, which will be “Totally Normal Holiday Celebration.” We are excited to keep planning and hope lots of 4-H members join us!
