The Nassau County 4-H Strategic Shooters Archery Club & Competitive Teams just wrapped up an incredible first year back as part of the 4-H Shooting Sports Program!

Our archery program goes beyond learning how to hit a target—it’s about preparing youth to be “Beyond Ready” for the future. While practicing archery fundamentals, members also build essential life skills such as communication, teamwork, resilience, and leadership. Learning doesn’t stop at the range. Club members are encouraged to reflect on their experiences and practice public speaking through demonstrations, illustrated talks, and formal speeches at Nassau County 4-H’s Annual County Events. These opportunities help youth gain confidence, sharpen their communication skills, and develop abilities that will serve them well in the workforce one day.

As a recap of the year, we proudly enrolled 24 club members—12 brand-new to 4-H and 12 returning youth. Our members also competed in five state-level matches, proudly putting Nassau County’s name on the board each time!

• Field Junior Match – 2nd Place

At the State Match, our teams earned various placings across events, showcasing their hard work and dedication throughout the season.

A special recognition goes to our Junior Division Highest Scoring Youth Overall.
