English ivy (Hedera helix) is a popular indoor and outdoor ornamental vining plant. Distinct features include dark evergreen leaves and the development of both juvenile and adult foliage. Adult plants are often used in mature landscapes and juveniles are used in small pots for sale in retail stores. Generally, the English ivy is a hearty plant and very disease resistant. However, a few diseases can cause economic losses in production and landscape plantings.
Dr. David J. Norman and Dr. G. Shad Ali talk more about identifying and treating various diseases to assist commercial growers in the EDIS publication called English Ivy (Hedera helix): Identification and Control of Diseases in Commercial Greenhouse Production and in Landscapes.
