County Events Day and Share The Fun

What is County Events Day?

County Events Day is an excellent opportunity for 4-H members to showcase their knowledge on a topic of their choice. This event is open to junior, intermediate, and senior-level 4-H’ers. Cloverbud members will participate in table setting for exhibition purposes only. Youth have the option of presenting their speech/demonstration as an individual or team. Youth who participate in County Events Day gain essential life skills such as public speaking skills and learning how to gather and present information.

What is Share the Fun?

Share the Fun is a program that provides 4-H’ers the opportunity to discover and share their talents/gifts with others. All 4-H members are able to participate and is conducted at the County, District, and State levels. Youth who participate in Share the Fun enhance skills such as appreciation of talent, confidence, and the ability to discover new talents. There are five categories for Share the Fun:

  • Instrumental: musical instruments
  • Vocal: singing
  • Dance: Baton, dance, acrobatics, etc.
  • Dramatic and Novelty: Skits, monologues, etc.
  • General: Acts with two or more categories
Helpful Tips

Here are some tips that can help you as you prepare for County Events Day and Share the Fun:

  • Take a deep breath
  • Look at your audience
  • Try not to panic, keep pushing through
  • Remember to slow down
Awards

Presentations are scored by judges and all participants are awarded ribbons. All blue ribbon winners are eligible to register and compete at District Events.

Blue ribbons demonstrate mastery.

Red ribbons demonstrate approaching mastery.

White ribbons demonstrate developing mastery.
