4-H Community Clubs | Membership Age 5-18
4-H Clubs are organized and supported to provide learning opportunities such as citizenship and leadership while experiencing a wide range of projects. For the 2023–2024 year, Lake County 4-H has 32 clubs with a variety of project areas. Lake County 4-H membership is open to all youth, ages 5-18 as of September 1st of the current 4-H year. Youth will participate in community service projects, develop leadership skills, provide educational opportunities, and advocate/promote Lake County 4-H. |

Horse Project | Membership Age 8-18
The 4-H Horse program provides an opportunity for youth to participate in activities designed to improve citizenship, sportsmanship, horsemanship, discipline, and responsibility while creating an atmosphere for learning. Unmounted Horse Projects | Membership Age 5-18
There are many ways for you to learn about horses and you don’t need to own one. You can learn about horse care or join a team and compete on your horse knowledge. Cloverbuds (ages 5-7) can complete a project book on horses: clovrman (ncsu.edu)
Juniors, Intermediates, and Seniors (youth ages 8-18) can participate in hippology, horse judging, quiz bowl, and speech/demonstration competitions.

County Events Day | Membership Age 5-18

Livestock Shows | Membership Age 5-18
Livestock shows are an opportunity to showcase the knowledge and skills gained throughout the year. Lake County 4-H hosts an annual educational chicken and rabbit show. 4-H youth are also able to participate in the Lake County Fair, Central Florida Fair, and Florida State Fair.

District VIII Citrus Project | Membership Age 5-18
The citrus project is available to all 4-H youth in Orange, Seminole, Lake, and Volusia counties. During this project 4-H’ers grow their trees, learn about citrus management practices, diseases, record keeping, and marketing. Shooting Sports | Membership Age 8-18
The 4-H shooting sports program focuses on youth development through experiential learning. This program is designed to teach kids about gun safety, proper use of firearms, responsibility, and public speaking. Florida 4-H program discipline-specific ages are as follows: Small bore, air rifle, and archery: 8 years old by Sept. 1 Shotgun and hunting: 10 years old by Sept. 1 Muzzleloading: 12-years old by Sept. 1

Camp Cloverleaf | 4-H Camp Cloverleaf is a coed, summer camp for all youth aged 6-16 years. Day and residential summer camp programs are available. Our camp staff are passionate about positive youth development and creating a memorable camp experience for all campers. Each week at summer camp has traditional camp activities, like campfire, but will also have specific themed activities. We invite you to view our upcoming summer camp schedule and join our adventures! Awards | Recognition of youth members is important. Through our Awards and Recognition programs, youth can share their knowledge gained through experiences in 4-H. they demonstrate their mastery of skills developed throughout their 4-H projects by applying for scholarships, award trips, and competing in contests.
