Jefferson County 4-H Has Been Busy Ending The 2012 Year.

It’s been very busy around the 4-H Office for the end of 2012 year. First there was the County Wide 4-H Tropicana Public Speaking Contest. Boy! The Speaches were great. There were speaches on: Experiences, Baseball, Actors, Cabins, Dogs, Creep of the Deep, Respect, Sisters, and Music, from the 4th and 5th graders. The 6th grader’s speaches were on Fathers, Comics, Life, Mexico Beach, The Color of Friendship, Biltmore, Golf Career and The Secret of Happiness. Like I said great speeches. Competion was tough and the audience was filled with excitement. All participants received a certificate and winners received medialons and plaques, with fist place winners recieveing all of the above plus a trophy and a Camp Cherry Lake Scholarship.

The Jefferson County Council participated in the District III Citrus Project were they sorted through citrus fruit and bagged it for delivery to families in need and visited the Nursing Homes and handed out Christmas Cards and sang Christmas Carols to the residents. The Jefferson County Council fisnished off the year with a party to celebrate the season.
