Family & Consumer Sciences (FCS) Dine In Day December 3rd

December 3rd is FCS Dine In Day. This day is set aside for families to eat together. Last year, more than 100,000 people committed to preparing and eating a healthy meal together. This year we are planning to increase to 2000,000.

Research has shown that eating together as a family is a bonding experience.”Eating together as a family is more than just a meal, it is an opportunity for families to come together regularly in support of family unity. Most research suggests that both parents and children value sharing a meal together and find the experience rewarding. Although there is no guarantee that eating together as a family will resolve all family problems, it may provide the opportunity to make a fresh start.” Dr. Larry Forthun, University of Florida Extension Professor .
