Jackson County 4-H is offering Summer Day Camps opportunities for youth, both 4-H members and non-members alike.

ADULT FOR A DAY CAMP

Kids get to experience living on their own, a hands-on, real-life simulation that gives young people the opportunity to experience their futures in a fun and exciting way. They will be encouraged to make healthy and wise lifestyle choices similar to those adult’s face on a daily basis.
Camp is for youth ages 12 to 18. The registration fee is $25 per participant.

4-H 9-DAY PHOTOGRAPHY CAMP

The purpose of this camp is to learn creativity through photography. They will learn composition of an image, types of photography, build a portfolio, prepare their work for a show and to attend the Jr. Photo Show on Aug 10th, 2024.
Overall, the kids will receive 36 hours of instruction and practice, create a best photo portfolio, a 16” x 20 Gallery wrap print to be included in a gallery exhibition and participate in a Jr. Photo Show that will be judged and awarded. A great first step into learning photography.
Camp is for youth ages 11 to 18. The registration fee is $125 per participant. Deadline for registration Jun 24,202.

2024 SOUTHEASTERN CROP SCOUT SCHOOL

The kids get to visit farms in three states. Day 1 will be agribusinesses near Cairo, Georgia – Farmer’s Peanut Company, Gainous Shade trees (ornamental nursery) and Southern Gin. Day 2 – Headland, Alabama area to tour the Alabama Research Station to learn insect identification and scouting, and Red Fox Fertilizer Plant. Day 3 – will be in Florida where youth will visit a vegetable farm near Malone, Jackson Farms in Grand Ridge, and swim at Jackson County Blue Springs Park.
Camp is for youth going into the 7th-12th grades. Lunch and snacks will be included each day. The registration fee is $20 per participant. Deadline for registration is July 19, 2024
