Does your child have an interest in crochet, needlepoint, or embroidery?
If so, our upcoming 4-H Hooks and Needles Summer Camp will give them a great introduction to these skills and more. This summer camp will be hosted at the Jackson County Extension Office with help from the Hooks and Needles Club.
Learning needlework is a valuable life skill that increases self-discipline, goal setting, and self-esteem. Youth who participate will spend 4 days over the course of 2 weeks learning different needlework skills with guidance from experienced members one of our local Hooks and Needles Club.
Opportunities for youth to advance in needlework skills include participating in upcoming events and exhibiting their work. Information on how to register and participate in such events will be given at this camp. The goal of this camp is to teach valuable life skills, introduce youth to the art of needleworking, and set youth up for success if they choose to exhibit their creations at local shows such as the Panhandle Youth Expo.
This camp is being offered to youth ages 10 and up.
This camp will have a cost of $75.00. This includes 4 days of camp, supplies that youth will take home with them, instructional manuals, and snacks. Drop off begins at 7:45 a.m. and pick up is at 12:00 p.m. Please contact us at 850-482-9620 for more information or click here for registration.
