In addition, residents need to be mindful of the fertilizer ordinances in their county and the effect of fertilizer on the environment. Join UF/IFAS Extension Hillsborough County on Thursday May 18th from 10 to 11:00am to get an introduction to selecting and applying fertilizer in the home landscape. Learn about macro and micro nutrients in fertilizers, how to build soil with organic amendments, fertilizer application rate and timing to optimize plant health and protect the environment. This class will be taught by Tia Silvasy, Residential Horticulture Agent and Master Gardener Volunteer Coordinator.
