Mindy Hanak
Mindy Hanak coordinates the Community and School Gardens program at UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County, supporting seven community gardens and dozens of school gardens. In her role, she facilitates volunteers, educational components, and edible education (outreach). The programs aim to grow gardens and heighten knowledge, increasing food security and agricultural opportunity in the community. A graduate of the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee, Mindy earned a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary social science. She has a lengthy background in education, plant nursery, and customer service, and enjoys sharing ideas and information that empowers individuals to take bold actions.
