Emma is the 4-H Youth Development Program Assistant for UF/IFAS Extension and Sustainability Sarasota County. Emma grew up in Manatee and Sarasota Counties, and after moving away for college, realized how much her local community and environment meant to her. Because of this, she's beyond excited to be back home and working in this position! Emma has previously worked in youth education and programming for a local non-profit called Healthy Teens, the National Park Service, and interned with UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County in summer and fall 2023. She has experience developing and facilitating programs on physical and mental health, history and culture, and the environment. In her free time, Emma enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, scuba diving, creating art, and exploring new parts of Florida! Emma has bachelor’s degrees in Anthropology and Environmental Studies from Tufts University. She plans to pursue her Master’s in the next few years, likely with a focus on marine conservation.
