With Show Season and the Fairs coming up, now is the time to be working on your letter that you will be sending to potential buyers. Here are some helpful tips:
- Who do I send a buyers letter to?
- If you showed an animal before you should start with the list of individuals that supported you last year.
- What businesses does your family shop at, buy supplies from or do work with throughout the year. These merchants/businesses would be a good choice to send letters to.
- What should I include in my letter?
- Your letter should include:
- An introduction of yourself and your project.
- An invite to the show as well as the sale.
- An explanation of all the ways that the potential buyer can support your project.
- Your Signature
- Pictures
- Pictures of you and your project are great.
- A picture in the form of an invitation with the time and date are nice, however it should be accompanied by a letter.
- Can I type or copy my letter?
- How you write your letter is up to you.
- However, many past buyers have stated they look for hand written letters
- How do I address the envelope?
- The Return Address (your address) goes in the top left corner.
- The Recipient’s Address (who you are writing to) goes slightly centered on the bottom half of the envelope.
- The Stamp goes in the top right corner.
