In response to Hurricane Matthew’s forecasted impacts to the State of Florida, we are cancelling this weekend’s UF/IFAS events to ensure the safety of everyone concerned. This action is being taken after thoughtful consideration and in consultation with IFAS and university leadership and staff.
This cancellation includes the SHARE Council Lunch/Meeting, Behind-The-Scenes Tour and Dinner of Distinction on Friday and the CALS TailGATOR on Saturday. We look forward to seeing everyone at other events throughout the state.
We are currently working on plans to honor and celebrate the achievements of this year’s awardees at times and places most appropriate and convenient for the award recipients and their families.
The UF Foundation Board and multiple colleges have also made the decision to cancel their planned events. UAA has not released a decision in regards to Saturday’s football game.
For anyone who has submitted a registration payment you may:
- Generously designate your registration payment as a gift to support UF/IFAS (tax-deductible contribution; gift receipt will be issued)
- Request reimbursement of payment
Please contact Caylin Hilton at cnewbern@ufl.edu in regards to your registration payment. If no response is received by Oct 21 we will assume that your payment is meant to be designated as a charitable gift and we will process it accordingly.
Many also generously made a gift to support CALS Ambassador attendance; these gifts will be used to support activities of the CALS Ambassador student program. Please contact Caylin Hilton with any questions.
Thank you for your continued commitment to UF/IFAS and our state. For those who will be impacted by this storm, you are in our thoughts. Stay safe and we will see you soon.
