DIY Draped Hypertufa

Perfect for fairy gardens and great for gift giving. You’ll create a one-of-a-kind, outdoor/indoor container using Portland cement, aggregates and fabric. When used as a decorative container for potted plants, hypertufa is perfectly sized for a table-top garden. Class makes a thoughtful gift for the crafter and gardener.

$20 materials fee includes everything needed to create a one-gallon sized draped hypertufa container. Pre-registration suggested, class sized limited first call, first serve. Check payable to University of Florida, Mail to Levy County Extension, PO Box 219, Bronson, 32621.

Session One – DRAPING

May 14 – During this session, Master Gardener volunteers demonstrate and guide you through the steps and process to blend Portland cement, peat and vermiculite and drape your one-gallon hypertufa container.

Session Two – PLANTING

May 21 – After curing for a week, your draped hypertufa creation is ready to plant. This session focuses on care and management tips for the container garden. The emphasis will be on irrigation, fertilization and propagation. During this session, you will plant your cured draped container (all plants provided).
