UF Recognizes NE District Master Gardener Volunteers

Congratulations! UF’s NE District Master Gardener volunteers receive service awards.

Wendy Wilbur, State MG Coordinator and co-host Alicia Lamborn, UF/IFAS Extension Baker County, elaborated on the accomplishments of Master Gardener volunteers (MGV), Friday, September 18th.

Wendy specifically thanked MGV’s completing one year, two year, three year and thirteen years of service. This is to say, every year is appreciated. Volunteers give back to the community in Extension guided service projects.

Seize the opportunity!

In addition to service, MGV’s complete annual continuing education (CEU’s) training, keeping current on horticulture related research. Historically, training has been at traditional in-person events and programs. Admittedly, 2020 has been a year of challenges. Being a resilient and versatile group, MGV’s have embraced UF’s virtual educational resources. Again, congratulations to MGV’s.

Several MGV’s died during 2020. The program concluded with a solemn memorial tribute to Rebecca “Becky” Jordi, UF/IFAS Extension, Nassau County and Master Gardener Volunteers.
