Need help with your yard? One of our Master Gardeners can come out to give advice and education on any issues you may have. We would love to help you build soil health, grow healthy plants, and protect the Indian River Lagoon or the St. Johns River! Once you register we will email you a short survey with details about your site and contact you about scheduling. If you are in an HOA we have a different link for that!

2025 Brevard County Master Gardener Volunteer Program

Classes will begin January 8th 2025 for Wednesday and January 11th for the Saturday class.

The Florida Master Gardener Volunteer Program relies on trained and dedicated volunteers interested in gardening and giving back to their communities. Master Gardeners have the opportunity to host plant clinics at their local libraries, tend to the Brevard Discovery Garden, perform site visits to help their fellow community members, and more. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, consider signing up for our next Master Gardener class!

Brevard County Master Food and Nutrition Volunteer Program

Beginning on January 27th. | The deadline to apply is January 13th

Do you enjoy cooking, eating, local food work, or just simply – food? If you answered yes to any of these, consider joining the Extension Master Food and Nutrition Volunteer (MFNV) program now! The 2025 application for the MFNV program is now open to Brevard County citizens! Join this program to help people improve lifestyles in ways that promote health, reduce disease and illness risk, and help reduce healthcare costs.

Health ROCKS!

January 14 – February 25 | 12:30pm – 2pm | Free

(Inspired to be Substance Free) This 4-H program is comprised of a series of fun and engaging activities for grades 6-8th. Youth participants will gain the knowledge, skills, and assets needed to make smart decisions about their own health, and the sense of empowerment needed to become advocates for others. Also accepting mentors 9th-12th grade.

Barnyard Challengers 4-H

January 27-March 17th (weekly meetings every Monday)| 6pm-7pm| Cost: $25.00

If you have a child, age 8 or older, with disabilities who would like to learn about poultry and have an opportunity to participate in the Brevard County Fair, or if you’re interested in becoming a mentor, we’d love to hear from you!

4-H Dog Obedience and Agility Workshop

February 2,9,16 & 23 |Sundays| 3:30pm – 4:30pm|

*Coming in February! Brevard County 4-H and Paws for Pals present this Introduction to Dog Obedience and Agility workshop. The cost is $10 for all four classes. This class is open to youth ages 8 – 18 years old as of September 1, 2024. It is open to youth, whether they have a dog or not. If bringing your own dog, it must be at least one year old. Meeting place will be Manatee Cove Park Horse Arena in Merritt Island.

Brevard County Farmers Market

Every Thursday at the Regional Pavilion inside Wickham Park | 3 pm – 6 pm

Join us at the market to discover a variety of homemade food from local businesses! There are many unique products like grass-fed beef, Fresh from Florida produce, spices, honey, jams, coffee, nut butters, microgreens, edible plants, a variety of baked goods and vegan desserts, olive oil, salsas, and more! We also participate in the Fresh Access Bucks (FAB) token program! This program allows SNAP recipients to buy fresh produce and other goodies with their food stamp benefits.
