Cooking in an Instant and Air Frying

October 1 | 2 pm – 4 pm & 6 pm – 8 pm

This cooking class is a fun hands-on experience and you will get to eat what you made in class. You will learn four new recipes, two for your pressure cooker and two for your air fryer! Our menu theme for this class is fall favorites!

FMNP Wildlife Monitoring

October 3 – 5 | Registration ends September 27

Learn the principles for surveying and monitoring wildlife! Students that complete this course will better understand the reasons for monitoring wildlife and the methods used to do so.

Canning: Jams & Jellies

October 5 | 10 am – 12:30 am

This hands-on experience will focus on canning jams and jellies. You will be able to take your food home, so please bring a box with you as the jars will still be hot.

Canning: The Pickling Process

October 8 | 2 pm – 4 pm

This hands-on experience will focus on the pickling process for cucumbers and more. You will be able to take your food home, so please bring a box with you as the jars will still be hot.

Water Bath and Pressure Canning

October 8 | 6 pm – 8 pm

This hands-on experience will focus on two canning methods, water bath and pressure canning. You will be able to take your food home, so please bring a box with you as the jars will still be hot.

Limited Commercial Landscape Maintenance Certification Workshop

October 16 | 8:30 am – 3 pm

UF/IFAS Extension Brevard County will be offering an in-person Limited Commercial Landscape Maintenance (LCLM) Training workshop that helps you prepare for the 482 Limited Certification Landscape Maintenance pesticide license certification exam (aka Round-up® license).

Backyard Chicken Training Class

October 16 | 10 am – 12 pm

Learn all about raising and caring for chickens in urban environments! This class is taught virtually in partnership with UF/IFAS Extension Orange County.

The Science of Cheese Making

October 17 | 2 pm – 4:30 pm & 6 pm – 8:30 pm

This class will focus on the basics of cheese making and provide a hands-on opportunity to make two different types of cheese!

Ornamental & Turfgrass Pest Control Certification Review and Exam

October 22 | 8:30 am – 5 pm

Need an O + T license? If so, this class is for you! NO CEUs available. Strictly review and exam class. Not for current license holders. The morning will be for the Core review and the afternoon will be for the Ornamental and Turfgrass pest control review. You can attend one or both.

Adult Mental Health First Aid Training

October 24 | 9 am – 4 pm

Become certified in Mental Health First Aid! This is a skills-based training that teaches people how to identify, understand, and respond to signs and symptoms of a mental health or substance use challenge. Like physical First Aid and CPR, MHFA helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis until professional assistance is obtained or the crisis is resolved.

FNMP – Environmental Interpretation

October 24 – 26 | Registration ends October 18

Learn how to be a better environmental interpreter & educator! This course covers topics such as: The fundamentals of interpretation, group management, developing interpretive displays, practicing interpretive techniques, and more!

2025 Brevard County Master Gardener Volunteer Program

This is an interest check, classes will begin in January 2025

The Florida Master Gardener Volunteer Program relies on trained and dedicated volunteers interested in gardening and giving back to their communities. Master Gardeners have the opportunity to host plant clinics at their local libraries, tend to the Brevard Discovery Garden, perform site visits to help their fellow community members, and more. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, consider signing up for our next Master Gardener class!

Brevard County Farmers Market

Every Thursday at the Regional Pavilion inside Wickham Park | 3 pm – 6 pm

Join us at the market to discover a variety of homemade food from local businesses! There are many unique products like grass-fed beef, Fresh from Florida produce, spices, honey, jams, coffee, nut butters, microgreens, edible plants, a variety of baked goods and vegan desserts, olive oil, salsas, and more! We also participate in the Fresh Access Bucks (FAB) token program! This program allows SNAP recipients to buy fresh produce and other goodies with their food stamp benefits.
